Strut Rod Bushing Questions
« on: February 26, 2008 - 04:46:33 PM »
I got a set of Energy Suspension poly strut rod bushings a while back, which are going in as I do the front end work. I noticed that the bushings are different from the rubber parts that came out of the car.

First Question: With the rubber parts, the front bushings are smaller, but with the polys front and rear are the same. Also, the angle of the sides seems to be different. See attached pic, ruber parts on the left, poly on the right. Should this be the case? Do I have the right parts?

Second Question: Obvious the poly parts compress far less than the rubber parts; that's the reason to use them. Does this change the target torque spec when I'm reassembling?

they are a different shape but those are the rigth pieces , the torque is basically the same but the bushing will compress less , hopefully you can get tight enough to get the rol pin back in place
