bucket seats
« on: February 26, 2008 - 04:10:27 PM »
I have several bucket seats and Im trying to figure out which years they are with just the frames.
I know about most of them with the material covers in telling how with the wide band on top.

anyone have a link for this.

thanks,

The backs break down into 3 groups. 1970, 1971, 1972-1974.  I know 70 & 71 bottoms are the same. 72-74 bottoms may be the same as 70 & 71.  I just don't have one here so I can check.

I compared my 71 bottom frame with a 72 bottom, they looked the same to me. I used the 72 bottom b/c i had a few broken springs in mine. Now, im real curious about the backs. i will say that when i mounted my 6way brackets on the 72 frame (which came with 6ways as well) my tracks bind up ever so slightly. i'll have to pull it back out and check it in the spring.

70 & 71 both have buttons to release the seat back.  72-74 use a lever.  I can't get pics because it is raining here right now.
