So if Barry's drawings go bye-bye.....
« on: February 28, 2008 - 02:20:47 PM »
Please excuse my ignorance I came from the Corvette world.   We had assembly manuals printed and easily bought for our Vettes.  I can find one Haynes type Dart/Challenger manual for 67-76 cars.  How in the world am I going to get my car back together???

My suggestion is do what I did - download the files onto your computer before he takes them down tomorrow.  The scans are all .jpgs and the big 70-71 files are consolidated into pdf files.  Then you can look at them at your leisure.  That, take lots of photos before you tear it apart (is it too late?) and watch the postings here and save photos that are relevant to your car and your build.

:clueless:  Did you mean "can't" find a Haynes manual?  :dunno:

Haynes doesn't make a Challenger one.  I think they make one for the Japanese Dodge Challengers (Mitsubishi cars).

If you go on Ebay or contact vintage auto manual companies, you can get a Dodge service and chassis manual specifically for that year car , even on CD that'll help get you car back together again.

He has to take them down tomorrow, so don't delay if you're going to download them.

So, it must be a myth that copyrighted material is fair game after 25 years. At least that was what my music teacher told us.

It's only fair game if the author or the author's estate fails to renew the copyright.  That's why anyone can crank out the Bible or works of Shakespeare, but only Penguin Books can publish "The Grapes of Wrath" - the Steinbeck estate still holds the copyright.

Sucks for us, though, huh?
