The end of the world?
« on: March 04, 2008 - 05:48:00 PM »
No, but close.

He was the only Packers quarterback I have ever seen play.  Arguably the best ever, has decided to retire.  It doesnt surprise me, it was going to happen sooner or later.  Sure will miss him.

:dunno: Well it sure surprised me. I really thought he would have retired at the end of 2006, but when he came back and had the year he had and the team was in the conference championship game, I really looked for him to play this coming season. But I guess he just didn't need all the questions, not to mention off season conditioning, training camps, etc. He's still basically a young man, but time does sneak up on ya.

One of the best, a great guy with down to earth character.  :2thumbs:

I sure thought he would be back for another run after the great season he had last year. He went out his way with class, not hanging around like Dan Marino did, padding his records with dismal performances. At the end Dan had so many pads in his uniform it actually looked like he was wearing a diaper....... :roflsmiley:

There's an amazing stat where the Bears have had something like 21 different quarterbacks during the time Favre played for the Packers.

I'll have to admit it that Brett IS the greatest QB that the game hsa ever seen. There probably won't be another like him for a LOOOOOOOOOOG time either.

Ummm, he is a top 10, but I wouldn't say the greatest. You guys also had Bart Starr who won a couple of Super Bowls.  :grinyes:
