70 Chall Shaker
« on: July 21, 2009 - 01:30:06 AM »
Ok weird question
on the 70 Chall Shaker cars the few that were produced did they all have the trangular star at the front of the hood ? All what 70 that were produced LOL
My friend has a weird / stupidly early 383 N96 shaker car & the hood has a center body line but it just tapers out with no triagular star & it instead has the D O D G E lettering across the front of the hood , what is up with that ??

Hey Neil,  I will find out off a buddy of mine here.  I will ask him over the weekend as it is a big Mopar event here this coming weekend, and i will see him there. Unless someone else comes up with the answer before then :2thumbs:

Thanks Ken
I was on the phone with him tonight & he mentioned it as he has had a number of shaker hoods but only one with the Dodge on the front instead of the star , next time I go up I will have to get some pix of the hood but it is deemed to be the original hood & we all have heard about the supply issue early in production in the 70 model

but if it was converted from a flat hood, none of them had the lettering right? only the PB hoods had the script if i was thinking right, and maybe the shakers now that you mention it, but i thought they all had the Fraz

Exactly my point , the flay hoods have the Tristar not the dodge lettering so what flat hood had the lettering ... as I recall none did so is this an early production hood for the shaker Without the tristar ??

I guess Daniel has passed unfortunatly , it seems he had put some serious effort into tracking the N96 Challs
