Third day at work - haven't quit yet. :)
« on: April 02, 2008 - 04:15:54 PM »
Hey all,

Just a quick note - wrapping up my third day at work here in Ohio.  Still goin' at it, MEK!!  For the first two days I had to travel to Columbus, OH to the AEP corporate office.  Got my security badge, laptop, peripherals - all the fun stuff.  Logged 20 hours on the clock in two days!  Today was my first day out here at the plant.  The good news is, everybody likes my dad so much that I'm already a well-respected individual!  I guess once again - it's not what you know, but who you know!

I gotta get - yeeeeeup - loggin' on to CC.C from the company computer!  Won't make much of a habit of it, though.  I promise!

I'll chat with you guys again soon.  I'll get my personal computer up and running again this weekend (It's been down since 2006!) so that I can start working on that parts list for Carlisle.  April, I'm going to start working on our project, too.  See ya!

Yeah, Longaberger or whatever it is - passed one of their work trucks this morning on the way in.  I'd say something like, "I don't need to bring souveniers home - I supply the electricity!" but truth is, A) it's Ohio electricity, and B) I'm not really supplying it - I'm technically just helping clean the air...  *shrug*  Oh well - for *mumbles my insane amount of pay* I'll do whatever the hell they want...!!

Good to see you guys.  I'm going to get my personal laptop up and running this weekend, and dad's gonna help me get my own internet wired down from the router, so I should be able to hang out and chat a bit more.

See y'all soon.

Glad its working out for you!  :2thumbs:

I've applied for a couple jobs with my local utility company. Positions are few and far between and competition is pretty fierce for them. I've got an interview as a welder with them this coming Tuesday and they told me to plan on spending a full 8 hour day with them.  We have to cut and weld four different coupons in several different positions then perform destructive testing on them. Wish me luck!
