Al is the real deal for sure, the way I remember ALL mopar guys from years gone by. I always said I never met a bad mopar guy, but I have heard of, and since sadly met a couple I wish I hadn't.
But Al is indeed the "old school" gear head ready and willing to pitch in and help and freely give..............whatever it takes to help a brother. I sent him a pm a while back (of course he was on the road
), I was needing a particular oil pan for a 440, special because of the closeness of the idler arm when installed in a certain 71 Dart. Well Al got back home, looked in his stash of parts and found just what this ole fart needed. He's only asking that I pay shipping and a little for his gas when he takes it into town to ship.
I still want to pay him for it but he has of yet been willing to give me a price, he just said as he did above, basically,You have a need of something and are going to use it not sell it,...it's yours. I too have done that a few times and guys look at ya like your nuts or something
. Hey, if your not willing to help out and give to help out............your a pretty sorry sucker for sure. People like Al make the Mopar hobby still a joy and fun. I'm glad he will be at Carlisle this year, can't wait to personally meet him and shake the hand of a true friend of many.
Thanks Al
