Door panal woodgrain

Did all the 70 RT Challengers have woodgrain inserts on the door panels? Was it just a SE thing?

Very early 70's did not have the plate or woodgrain.  It was added later.  My 6 pack car does not have it and all the others do.

So I guess that means that there is just door panel where the insert goes?

The woodgrain became standard on all models in mid Jan 1970.  Prior to that you only could get the woodgrain with the SE or if the car was ordered with leather or cloth and vinyl interiors.  The Deputy never received wood panels.

My 6 pack didn't come with the plates and it has the salt and pepper cloth interior.  It is a very unusual car the way it was ordered.  Who knows with Chrysler.  Maybe they were out of them that day. I know the panels were original that came with it.  I had the build sheet.  It was stolen when my home was broke into.  They stole the contents of my filing cabinet and I am sure threw the buildsheet away.  I am the 3rd owner and know the other 2 owners. The original owner specially ordered the car.  It was not a showroom car.

Christ, you gotta love the low life theives. If they only knew how important the small things are to us. I rest at night knowing that they lead a miserable life even though they crossover and remind us every once in a while. MotherFers!!
