trunk floor welds
« on: April 13, 2008 - 09:36:48 AM »
when i was removing my trunk floor i was suprised to find the floor was not welded to the shock crossmember. given that the floor supports arent welded to it either i figured there must be a reason?  looking around the site ive seen guys who apparently had spot welds to cut out where the floor was welded to the crossmember.  ive seen a few pics of the crossmember painted with weld through primer.

is the floor supposed to be welded to the shock crossmember?  maybe my car was a monday morning one.

Those spots in the area where the cross member is are for the gas tank support.
