« on: April 06, 2008 - 04:26:51 PM »
Need a couple pics.
1. Stud mount locations for clips on rocker panel.
2. Rear window stud locations for trim clips.

So what I'm asking is how did the factory put the rocker trim on below, Those little studs? and if so, the locations?
Anyone with some pics?

I have access to the stud gun this week end.

PLEASE??

My car had holes because it was a Gran Coupe. But I have the thin strip trim now to put on instead. I just need a pick on the side of a car that has the studs with the trim off. If thats the way they did it. Or were the clips screwed in holes?

I suppose I could just put them on randomly guessing. But I really don't like to resort to that if I can avoid it.

The trim for the rear glass, they were screw in clips not studs. I have a grand coupe also so I can't help on the rocker placement, I'm not sure it really matters though, as long as the moulding ends up level and in the right position. There were 3 screw holes on mine on the front fender end of the trim (in the body not the trim) where it looks like they repositioned it a few times on the assembly line to fit right. I found this image of the rocker panel detail where holes are used (even though it shows pic of a challenger). I also included a pic of where the clips went on my rear window trim, we noted the locations of the clips when we replaced the rear window channel. I had clips and staples on the upper window opening (that still had vinyl under them), maybe you are seeing staple remnants?  :dunno:

On the rear window, I have studs at the roof line. but then the sides are holes. I don't know if those were broken off studs or if they were screw in clips. I'm guessing screw in clips on for sides. Your picture certainly helps alot though Eric thanks.  :2thumbs:

Here's the rocker trim pics.  The first hole on each end is a screw and then the studs. Going from the rear wheel fender lip edge towards the front----lip to screw--2".   Lip to first stud---10".  First stud to second stud 4.5 "   Then the 2-3-4-5-6 are spaced 9 3/4 " apart.  They are 1/2 or 5/8 " from door sill down to stud.  Were you able to buy new clips?  If so where did you get them from.

I bought the trim when it was still available as OEM NOS with the clips. And they're all still good and re usable. I would've never guessed that 2 of the studs were so close with each other. Thanks once again.   :2thumbs:

Hoover auto parts I think stocks those clips right now. I'm pretty sure of that. You'll have to double check it out though.
