We got a couple of switches from The Mopar Shop (themoparshop.com) for the overhead console circuit.  They were like $8.00 each. Here's a picture from their OLD catalog (but they still carry them).

I don't have pictures handy, but what I wasn't aware of (and Ed from The Mopar Shop told me) is that when you put them in and close the door, after the contact is fully pushed in, the barrel of the switch is forced inward.  This makes them "self adjusting" as far as the length goes.  It worked just like he said, but I put a drip of super glue between the threaded switch body and the barrel to hopefully help it remember where it is supposed to stay.  The more difficult part was threading it into the door jamb.  Even though the threads were both 3/8, it was hard to get it started.
