WTS/WTT BUILT 440/727 READY TO RUN!
« on: January 14, 2008 - 10:48:16 PM »
I was gonna put this 440 in my cuda, but I've decided to go back small block. Will trade motor and trans for similarly built small block with trans or sell outright for $3600 cash.

Here's the specs, pix on request. please email me at cudajimmy@cox.net with trade offers.

71 440 .030
over. srp forged flat tops, comp mechanical flat tappet .540 lift, forged crank .10/.10 clevite 77 bearings, chamfered oil passages,
balanced assembly, shot peened ly rods with all arp hardware on the lower
end. The heads a fresh(have break in time on em) 906 casting W/modified
intake ports (max wedge style), the exhaust ports are huge. The heads were
built by the only guy in are area w/ a flow bench and flow a little over 300
cfm on the intake side @.600 lift, these ports are huge. The intake has
been modified to match the heads so its ported, and welded also. The heads
have 2.14/1.81 valves-ductile iron rockers and hardened shafts, i just ran
all the valves so really all you need is a carb, headers and this
baby will run. The trans is a 727 built by a-1 performance transmisson in
houston, tx. It has a shift kit, raybestos clutches and shifts really firm.
I had the guy modify the valve body a bit so it can be shifted manually all
the time, but w/a kickdown cable it will shift on its own. Have a 3500 converter for this tranny. The shortblock and
tranny have about 900 street miles on them, and 4 passes down hrp in
houston. The short block is really tight i just had the pan off to make
sure it was all good inside, and put a 7 quart pan on it. Oh yea the intake
is drilled for a fogger in case ya like the juice.

Will you separate (no trans) and is the crank drilled for a 4-speed?
I may be schizophrenic,
but at least I have each other

Well, the deal I had on my motor trade went south on me this week. We were supposed to meet in St. Louis and I guess he decided to keep his small block. Motor is still up for sale. Will trade for 340 or 360 in similar condition, with or without transmission. I will sell or trade my motor with or without transmission as well. Email me with any questions.

It was only raced a few times, but it averaged 12:50 in a c body with a 2:76 rear. That was also with stock 69 hp heads.

Located in OKC and I will be posting some pictures soon.

:clueless:  12.50 with 276's    I'd have to see that in a c body
