Do you really need a heater in a hemi car?

I would just ditch it save the time and cash. weld up all the holes... Just a thought. 
Yup, we need it, it might even be law. Last thing I want is to be driving down state highway 1, it rains and my windows start fogging up lol. I could careless about heat, I drive with my windows down all the time and am accustom to cold, surfing and all. But, having the defroster is a must. It's minimal weight unit anyhow vs the A/C anchor lol. Money although is an issue won't ever stop me from getting the best even if I have to go without food. Time is neither a worry, you can't rush restorations. Thanks all the same for the idea, I welcome input like this.
Mike - Yup, I'll be running heat mat down around both front seats from the firewall in front of each seat to the front of the back seat rail. This won't effect engine noise (as I want to hear this engine) but will keep us from cooking.
