The weather is nice but I wouldn't live near a big city, especially in the southern half of the state.

yeah, but look what happened to those that didn't live near the city but out in the mountain areas of L.A./ S.D. last summer.

I think I'd rather freeze my a** off for 6 months and know my unlocked car will be still in my driveway in the morning!!!
I think that all depends on where you live, not which state.
They are areas of every state that are bad.I can leave everything unlocked and it will still be there. But i dont live in the city

Sacramento, Stockton, and Los Angeles are the highest car theft areas in the state. Other than that most areas are probably on average to the rest of countries main cities.

I live very rural in the foothills.I am the last property on my road and all my neighbors have shotguns and are fiercely territorial,.Actually when i moved from Fresno my car insurance dropped 30%.I can walk out my front door and shoot my guns legally. The no trespassing signs and the "If you are found here at night.you will be found here in the morning" sign should send a clear message
As far as i know, there has never been a car stolen in my area, although there has been some houses broken into and the robbers where found there as well, taken a dirt nap

So far, so good, in my rural area. We leave the cars unlocked and occasionally forget my wallet in the truck for a few days. We do lock the house at night though. We have a "beware of dog" sign in front for unwelcome visitors but no dog to back it up. I find it easier to maintain then the live version. Only problem in 14 years has been neighbor's kids riding their dirt bikes on our moto track.  :nono:  :dogpile:

In Sunnyvale even though we are in the city the crime rate isn't too bad, just to be safe though when my fiance and I moved here her protection became a 9mm and mine became a 44 magnum.

Boy that sure sounds like a fun way to live. Fiercely territorial and guns to defend what you own. I still think I'll take the cold and snow. All I need to do to defend against the snow is start up the snow blower. All we use our guns for is to hunt wild game.

Actually I could leave everything WIDE open and never have a problem.I live an hour away from any gangbangers in the city on 5 acres. And most of what i said was a joke .DO I have guns and Lock everything up?Yes,Because......I used to live in the city, where i got ripped off a lot.Is it a comfort to me to be able to leave everything wide open?Heck no,My comfort is having everything locked up and protected by my gun toting neighbors, even though i know i "could" leave it all open.DO you leave your money on your dresser at home?If you do give me your address :bigsmile:I put in in the bank as any normal person would. Why do i talk about guns?Because I'm an NRA activist and its my right to bear arms.No one around me has ever taken a shot at a human being, more the deer, coyotes, skunks and neighbors dogs harrasing my livestock ect.You can have the cold and snow,I'll take this any day of the week

Wow!  That is some pretty pic's you got there.  I would think that anywhere in the world would have some kind of beuaty in it, somewhere.  I don't like Cali though because of all the hippies and weirdo's (no offence to any who own a great Mopar though ).  I believe that we should all be good stewards of the land, but I don't need some whack job 1500 miles from where I live to tell me how to do it "right".  But hey, enjoy what you got, cause you don't know what will happen tomorrow.  By the way, what are some thought's on Mini 14's.  My co-worker offered me his at an unbelievable price.

Its an unbelievable price because they are junk with a capitol J,lol. They shoot about as straight as Boy George. Ruger did come out with a target version of the Mini14,I may buy one. Thats probably what he is going to buy with the money. I use to shoot long range competition(before my mopar sickness took over)and had a mini14(but not for the long range), sold it after one box of ammo.Talking to gun dealers, they say they all shoot that way. I shoot 22-250 Savage bench rest with the accu trigger/8-32 power scope and an AR-15 .223 w 6-24 power scope, heavy target barrel/free floating hand guard. Both will put um in the size of a quarter at 200 yards. If you dont mind a 223 scatter gun buy the mini 14,lol
