Take the oil filter off, cut it open and inspect. No bad particles? Change oil and go mash the pedal :2thumbs:

IT depends on how the motor was built. Cylinder wall finish--ring type and gaps--rod and main bearing clearances.. I know when I raced  we would set up piston to wall clearance loose with tighter ring gaps and a nice 2 to 2 1/2 thousands rod and main clearance. I would start up the fresh motor break in the cam and take it for a couple of half throttle passes  bring it back retorque everything change the oil and drop the hammer and go racing. I never had a motor fail.
