How do the clips attach to the weatherstripping, and how does it attach to the cowl? I am having trouble visualizing this

there are 2 tabs that pierce through the rubber & are then folded down to hold in the rubber the clip is then slid into the slot on the body virtually parallel to the body ... I know

the rubber should be D shaped witha flat side that the clip goes through & a round part facing up
