They work but are old technology.  They bleed off fast at idle to give the appearance of a smaller cam and fill up under revs to gain the benefits of a larger cam, but they still bleed off fast and i am not sure they get the full potential out of a big cam.  All comes down to what you want out of the engine. :2thumbs:

I have been looking a bigger cams but i need the vac for the breaks.  Looking a hyd-Roller cams with 1.6 rockers and looking at mid 500s lift with mid 200s duration at .050.  I was wondering if the rhodes lifters will give me a little more low end and more vaccum.  The noisyness may be the trade off.  Remember its a 340 SB .030 over, "x" heads......anyone??   :dunno:

I used a couple of Hughes cams When Engle was still grinding them , now I just buy direct frm Engle the service & product is better this way
I use a lot of Engle grinds , they make a lot of both power & vacuum

....................I have used them in the 80s, I really like them.. noticiable idle improvement vaccuum up at least 2 ins.they give u that solid lifter sound...just remember they r not a cure all 4 a poorly selected cam.....u cannot use them with a hyd roller ...comp and crane make variable duration lifters also...I didnt realize they were still available........kim....... :canada:

I'm with olKimmer on this. BUT, last time I looked, Rhoads did have fast bleed roller lifters. Better check there web site to see if they have them for the MoPars. I havn't been there in a while.
