« on: May 15, 2008 - 08:42:12 PM »
What model Barracudas should this 4-pc kit fit?.. Where can 4 pieces be used 1-trunk lid 2- each corner where does the 4th piece go?.... Are there any different trims for the '70 models?    Inquiring minds want to know.  :grinyes:

Thanks

Their is a 4 piece style(usually found on Cudas) and a 3 piece style(usually found on gran coupes)but doesn't always fall true.Talk is going on about that on Moparts in the resto section.I think the 3 piece is anodized aluminum and the 4 piece is stainless.I am looking for a useable 4 piece set for mine,I am just cheap and it's not a pressing issue at this point.

Good luck on your search. Since I started working on 'cudas two years ago the cheapest I have found the trim is the new repo parts. All of the used stuff that I have seen has been over 500 a set.

Here is a picture of a 71 convertible that the owner decided to install both the cuda tail panel trim and the Gran Coupe trim.

Like I said that is the cheapest I have ever seen it. Also there are 2 reproductions available; that one for 145 (which you can tell it is a reproduction by the ends of the c trim flared out) and then there is a more accurate reproduction available but it is I think 300.

I believe it goes like this:

The code for both types of trim is M88.

70 & 71 Cudas had the 4 piece on the tail panel (pin)
72--74 Cudas had the 3 piece (1 on the trunk lid)..
Grand Coupes had the 3 piece as well...

.......4 piece on the tail panel (pin)... this is also how you can tell improper paint jobs... The correct way -- the color of the car meets the "black" of the tail panel under the molding... You will see a few incorrect paint jobs with the entire tail panel painted "black" (organisol, or whatever it is called)...

if your adding the 4 piece. and painting the car. mark the mounting points and mask off the tail panels from those pointes.
