Pics of my 71
« on: May 26, 2008 - 02:25:33 PM »
Looks better from a distance.  I'm thinking I may sell it to get a 2009.  Needs paint, new or repaired trim, bumpers replaced or redone among other things.  I'm thinking I could get maybe 12K for it.  Hard decision but it does drive like a 37 year old car.
I may be schizophrenic,
but at least I have each other

If you decide to sell... Post in the for sale section. And let me know.   Nice looking car. I got friends that would love to have that car!  I wouldn't do it though :grinno:    Save more, buy less. Keep the '71  :2cents:

I would wait until the 09's are a year or so older and get a better deal. Also, if it is going to just be a summer car-that is a lot of cash to spend on a summer driver. Although, can't complain- I am having the same dilema

Please do yourselves a favor.  If you can only have one, keep the 71.
After a few years the new Challenger you buy with the 12,000 from the 71 (plus another 30,000 or so) will be just another used car worth about 12 grand.  I have had old Corvettes and new Corvettes, Old GTOs and New GTOs, Old Camaros and new Camaros.  It is always the same.  Five years later the old one is worth more than ever, and still draws a crowd.  The new one is just a used car worth a third of what you paid for it, and nobody gives it a second glance. :2cents:

Put a little TLC in Her.  I get more waves and compliments in this thing than any new car besides a viper or gt500 or such lol.  Not too many old cars around on the roads.  next time You are on the highway look around and see what everyone is looking at, It will be YOU!

HUGE +1.

Same dilema but decided to keep my '72 'Cuda.

In the end they will both be just old used cars, but the 70-74 E'bodies will ALWAYS have more charisma, charm and crowd pleasing lines than a used 3-5-8 yr old 2-door modern muscle car that looks like every other 3-5-8 yr old 2-door muscle car of the same make and model.

There will be be tons of new (2008 and on...) Challengers out there, but still relatively few 70-74 e-bodies...
1972 'Cuda 340 4spd, Blk/Blk.

Sold November 2012.  Will be missed and fondly remembered...

Replaced by this..I know, I know it ain't no classic...but it doesn't rattle and is wicked fast even with AC on...
