A/C Removal questions

I am trying to clean up my engine bay.  I have decided that I want to remove all the a/c equipment. It doesn't work and if it did I still wouldn't use it because I prefer to cruise with the windows down anyway.  What all needs to be done to do this?  Pics of how the belt configuration would go without the compressor in there would also be helpful. Also, do the lines that connect to the radiator have to be capped or something?  I've never claimed to be a mechanic so bear with me.   :lol:

the easy way is to go to a wrecker & get all the pulleys & brakets from a small block truck without AC
 the lines to the rad are actually connected to the condenser & you can cap them or remove the condenser , I would cap the lines into the heater box at the firewall

I'd definitly remove the condenser coil from in front of the radiator to aid engine cooling.

I'm going to remove my A/C as well.  The 2 belts on my A/C compressor are only connected to the 2 groove alternator pulley and the crank pulley.  Once removed, it looks like I could get away with running a smaller belt from the crank to the alternator.  Anyone know if this works, and would a stock non-A/C alternator belt fit?  Is it necessary to swap pulleys and brackets just to run the alternator?

Yes you need differnt bracket & pulleys to line up the belts , generally the water pump & alt are on one belt & the pwoer steering on another in front of the alt belt

You guys are trying to take off your A/C and I am trying to put back my original factory A/C. To bad 70 to 71 are different.

I just removed all my old A/C equipment off of my Challenger. 440Source has all the pulley hubs (brackets/belts ect) that you would need to retrofit for non A/C. They sell new and used ones!! Take your pick!! The website is www.440source.com You can order online. Just a suggestion. That's where I got my stuff. It fit well and looked great!! :2thumbs:

There is differences in the years, When you go from 70 or 71 into the latter years the tube lengths are different, male conections switched to female and vise versa. Also the condensor moved the location of were the tubes connect to it. Its a headache  :banghead:

I have lines for either condenser; both inlet and outlet on driver's side, or inlet on the driver's side and outlet on passenger side.  I just need a condenser.
