Sounds like the car was tortured :crying:

"ORIGINAL FENDER TAG FOR A 1970 DODGE CHALLENGER WESTERN SPORT SPECIAL.

FOUND THIS CAR WHILE OFF-ROADING ABOUT 15 YEARS AGO ON TOP OF A LARGE HILL ON THE SAN ANDREAS FAULT.  NO IDEA HOW IT GOT THERE SINCE MOST OFF ROAD TRUCKS COULD NOT EVEN MAKE IT TO THIS LOCATION.   IT WAS BURNT TO THE GROUND AND THEN 10S OF THOUSANDS OF BULLET HOLES IN IT."

This guy live close to me. I think I know where he saw this car.  It is a favorite place for car strippers to dump thier cars, we used to ride our bikes back there.  However I never saw an E-Body back there.

This area has been cleaned up, and most of the cars have been removed.

Mike

Thanks for the link

So I ran some basic numbers on this thing, especially that interior. From what I could see, this was a WSS like Mike posted. It was  dark tan metallic with a Tan interior, White vinyl top (??)318 2V, and a 904. It had a build date of 2.25.70. One code I cannot really see too well is the one above the paint code, and it isn't the vinyl top code (the vinyl top code--v1w can clearly be seen next to the left bolt hole from both sides), but V1W isn't above the tan code. Also its interesting that it has a code for console AND bucket seats, which it goes without saying that the console will have buckets. Also interesting is that is has a left-hand painted racing mirror! It has the 26" radiator, I first saw the M51 sunroof code, but on closer inspection, it is H51, single air with heater, which would make more sense with the big radiator. Honestly, the one code I cannot see is the V1_ code. Some stripe, I am guessing...
