Hi all,
Need some help from the parts pro's out there. I had the engine rebuilt on my 1974 cuda 360 4-speed. The engine builder recommended that I purchase new edelbrock aluminum heads (which I did). He told me that the original iron heads had these tiny nearly invisible cracks (I could barely even see the cracks with the special white dust that he had spread over the heads). He had the heads x-rayed, and that it would be more cost effective to purchase the new edelbrock heads. My engine builder is a trust-worthy guy; I have no reason to doubt his opinion.
Any ways, my question is whether the old heads have any value or not? If so, how much? And if the cylinder heads are useless, should they be tossed out in the trash, or is it worth hauling them to a metal recycler?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
