being opposite threads start both the rod end & tie rod at the saem time so there is an equal amount of threads in the coupler ,& yes the left & right coupler should be close to the same , find the center point of the rack by turning the wheel lock to lock & go back 1/2 way & set the toe in so the wheels are straight wwiththe steering centered
the brake lines look ok as long as they don`t get near the rims or suspension while turned to the limit each direction
