Intake ????
« on: June 16, 2008 - 05:31:12 PM »
I having a 360 built for my 74 Challenger.. I'm in the market for an intake..   :bananasmi
The car is going to be street driven, and every now and then a run down the track.
Whats the difference in performance between a single and dual plane????
and what the benefit to a high-rise, with the rallye hood I def. have the clearance....

Thanks Peter :wavingflag:

Does anyone have an opinion on the Summit stage 3 intakes?????

Hey Pete, the summit intakes are good for the $$, but not as nice as the Air-gaps.  But will work nicely or your 360.  If $$$ is the issue then the Stage 3 if not Air-Gap. :2cents:

Yes, I'm running it on my SB stroker and only have 1 complaint, cold start-ups are slow with the heatless intake.

Tom.... There are more than one....lol Just not from you

I don't think I'll use another one.  :smilielol:

They have casting issues, possible sealing issues, hole finishing issues, sensor fitting (mechanical gage) issues... But they are alumium, and they do work once the issues are addressed. But $ for $ in terms of a builder, go for the Edelbrock.

I went with the RPM non-Airgap, so that I could have great midrange and not have the engine take a longtime to warm up during a cold start.

A dual plane is mainly for low and midrange rpm power.
A single plane is mainly for midrange and high rpm power.

Since you plan to mainly have a street motor I would go with the dual plane, but to give you a good choice, we need to hear what you plan to use in the motor; i.e. compression, heads, cam, carb, etc.

That's why you make the big $$$. :smilielol:

I just drive it and report back. :2thumbs:

Yes I would probably spend the extra dough if i did it again.  But I think it is good for the $$$.
