Ok i was asked to post pics of the dart
« on: June 30, 2008 - 05:59:55 PM »
It is the worse year 73 the dreaded nose car. was an H code at least with fold down rear seat. Sold new in new orleans to an older guy who used it as a regular car to from work ect. When new was gold with black top and black guts auto on colum with the delux bench. I was told when he bought a car he always got the biggest motor a car came with! Later his wife used it after he passed away. That was till her son sold it since she was getting up in age and was having problems driving! So a guy i know got it for his son  to go to school with it ! Brian had it  repainted in B5 blue for his son. the motor lost presser and it sat till i got it. So i am 3rd owner.
I wanted it since i had the 340X block with aluim heads and a polished 727 ready to go in the E body but many things went way wrong. so it was going to just be a driver with a quicky paint and seat cover on front only.
After pulling the motor and looking at the car i just could not toss such a nice driveline in it being shably so things just went and went.
I sold off my 25 year collection of extra E boidy stuff on ebay and paid for the dart stuff with it and had no realy out of pocket expence.
{ie} i opened an account at the bank for the car and as i sold stuff it was the cars $$ yes the car had it's own bak acount LOL
Car was striped and blasted i blasted 3500+ pounds of sand in my rear yard at home.
everything was re-done piece by piece and boxed bagged up.
keep in mind that what i also did with the vert so i had 2 whole cars in boxes and bags everwhere. I have a great wife who lived with not one but twoa polished trans in the master bedroom. a chrome 8 3/4 rear next to the night stand. the vert dash on the enetrtainmet center,the vert roof behiond the sofa you get the idea yet>
She realy rolled up her sleaves and helped with the dart 100%{as well as the vert}
So the body went to a friends body shop where he gave me a cabinet to keep my tools and supplies and section in the shop for me to use no time limit.
so i would woork on it few days a week there and the stuff that went on it at home. bags and boxes everwhare. The first boxes ect were marked passenger side brakes ect.. So whe I started to assmble it i would sometime take parts out that were e body and think they were for the Dart,only to have them be the wrong ones. Plus that fact that i had so much stuff in the attic i could find the stuff i wanted when i wanted it.
Five years passed by and it was 100% done and at it's show!
ISCA/WOW I tolk home best of class and car was on ESPN2 for 10 min or so.
I am getting pics uploaded to follow
