Radiator Hoses
« on: June 23, 2008 - 09:36:28 AM »
I need (want) to replace my upper and lower hoses - lower is leaking. Car is a 73 Barracuda w/440. I have the correct big block radiator. Right now, I have Goodyear hoses (60659 lower and 60664 upper). I need to order some stuff from Rock Auto, but all they carry is Gates (20558 lower and 20949 upper). I cross-checked the hoses on the Gates site, and they showed "not exact duplicate". What brand does everyone else run? Does it matter?  :dunno:

That is why I am replacing the lower one now :swear: rubbing on the K-member. I figured I would use some of the old hose and insulate the new one. But is there one that will fit without having to worry about it? What about the "flexible" style?

Do not use the corregrated flexabile style hoses, they become to rigid and start leaking and look ugly too boot. :2thumbs:
