Anyone setuo a rollout DVD player
« on: July 11, 2008 - 01:11:29 AM »
Hey I have a flip out DVD player I don't think it will fit in the stock location. Does anyone have one of these setup in their E_Body. If so please let me see pics. also I have no speakers so I need front speaker setup pics. Thanks everyone.

The dash overhang is going to prevent you from using a flipout DVD player in an E-body.

Yeah I figured that was gonna be a problem. I was thinking of making a custom housing for it centered below the Dash.

I am going to reach into my bag 'o' tricks and build a center console somewhat like XV's. I am envisioning a back up camera/DVD screen with a screen only. The music player head unit will be in the stock location. Sirius capable, MP3, CD and DVD. I would like to do an iPod holder and speakers in/on the center console too.

Your only "easy" option is going to be to mount it in front of the center console unit, which will require probably doing some minor drilling into the tranny tunnel and building a bracket or two.  Then you'll have to cover it somehow to make it look nice.  But it simpy will not fit in the stock location.

I bought one for my 01 Dodge because I knew it would fit.  Should've checked with us before you bought it.  :)

No, no It was in my Dads truck but it got in an accident and he didn't want it in the new truck so he gave me the dvd player and the Rockford Fosgate amplifier.

You could try to hunt down a console tape player housing and modify the front to accept the DVD player.  Just a thought...

I think I'm going to build a console on the hump under the dash. I need to look and see what I can do. I was just trying to see if anyone had done somtheing like this yet, but it sounds like I'll be the first.
