Lovely Sunday Afternoon Sight
« on: June 29, 2008 - 07:10:08 PM »
I was coming down the long driveway from my nephew's birthday party an hour ago, and what did appear cruising up the highway if front of me with the top down?  It was my friend's '71 Hemi Cuda convertible.  One of seven and the only one in Lemon Twist I believe.  Absolutely beautiful sight.  Wish I had had my camera with me to share with y'all!  :bananasmi

One of seven? I thought there were 11 or 12?

I'm certainly no authority!  Two different publications I have list 5 automatics and 2 4-speeds. Therefore, I guessed there were only 7!  :bananasmi

Man I bet that was a sight!    :useless:      :poopoke:

Also I think there are 11 71 Hemi cuda converts, including the two from france.  Also the car that debeut in Canada not to long ago was said to be an orig was supose to be #12 but turned out to be a fake, but did have the orig tranny from an unaccounted for 71 hemi cuda convert...... if I have the facts stright that is.

One of 11 made.

Last 1  sold 10 Million US dollars.

What a waste of money IMO. For 150 000 You can have a full show quality hemi 71 cuda that will smoke the absolute @#$%^& out of that car.

But none the less... Awesome Car indeed

No for 150 you can have a wanna be 71 hemi vert clone recreation tribute or what ever the tag is this year, BIG BIG difference imo.

I have seen pictures of 12 71 hemi cuda convertibles including that one that popped up in Canada last year. As far as building one, I know a guy who has a real 71 hemi cuda convertible and then built another one thats a clone the way he would have ordered one new but installed a 528 crate hemi in it. But he has many real hemi cudas mostly 71's and he is a great guy and down to earth.

Is his 71 Hemi Cuda Convert documented?  Sounds like this guy has the dream collection!

It's not currently on the market, and I've been working on it some! I bought some parts on ebay this week!  Maybe I need to come over and catch a ride in yours to get inspired? {:>) RB

I have been driving mine to work a lot lately...trying to debug the carb, had to change the gas tank and it unlodged some crud that got in the carb so it has been stalling when you stop...had it cleaned out twice now so hope that its done....

just replaced the antennea with the correct round extendable mast ( I was told that correct?) and that was a pain to get my arm inside the fender!

anyway having fun driving it .......will try to go to YearOne show this month  ...you should come for that...will have to check date..

Stuart

hope you keep yours!

Call me the minority, but I've never really cared for the 71 Cudas. Other years are better looking to me.
