Going home in a few weeks and want to get as much info out of my '70 RT/SE so that I can get the car registered with the Hamtramck Registry. I know where to look for the build sheet(s) which has(have) probably been long eaten by those da** mice, but what about other numbers I should be looking for? I know where the VIN # is on the dash, there should also be a metal tag on the inside of the engine bay, what other locations should I be looking for? How many locations are there in total and can they be accessed without raising the car?

My 70 rtse has vin# dash, door(decal), stamped on cowl below windshield and radiator support behind radiator , driver side. Also engine block and tranny.

Mines a two tag car. Is yours?  It might have vin# on both tags. I lost my second tag 20 years ago.

Challengers don't have # in the trunk sill like b bodies.

On your Challenger, you should find stamped numbers on the radiator support (drivers side) and on the cowl near the vent openings on the drivers side. The numbers should show the model year, assembly plant, and the sequence numbers (last 6 digits of the VIN)  IE.....  B0 100034......both of these locations are easily viewed.

other locations for the numbers are the engine block, trans case, fender tag, VIN plate, and the safety compliance decal on the drivers side door

thanks for the reply, I live in a different state than where my car is stored so I can't answer your  2 tags Q until later on in Aug when I get to examine the car for all of these numbers

thanks again, does Barry need visual confirmation, i.e. digital photos of the tags/numbers I do find?
