    340 magnum vs 340 four barrel??

    Hey guys, what it the difference between a 340 magnum and a 340 four barrel engine. I have seen both emblems on some 73 rallyes??   :clueless:

    the magnum and the commando are the same, they both are top end performance engines. the 340 4 barrell is the standard engine.

    HOw can you identify the cammando vs the magnum vs the four barrell ? were all available in 1973.  I would like to know which engine I have; it is a numbers matching 73 rallye challenger.

    the magnum is dodge and the super commando was plymouth, the casting number for a 1973 340 is 2780930, someone correct me if I'm wrong is it the heads that are different on the block to make it the magnum or commando?

    in 73 they factory dropped the compression huge , not sure the low comp version was still called a magnum
