people having problems posting pictures
« on: April 03, 2004 - 04:46:18 AM »
first way, at the bottom of your post(reply) window is a box with the words "Attach" you hit the browse button and pick out your picture (where you store them on your computer) as long as it's jpg, gif, bmp with 200kb or less size hit ok the post it. i put a picture of what you will see at the bottom of your reply window

second way
sign up at http://arctic.photoisland.com  or any free picture hosting site, upload your pictures......then type in your picture address in this between [ img] [/ img] with no spaces

more question ask here..

I've also noticed that sometimes when I preview a post with an attachment before I post it, the picture will need to be attached again.

All done Big Mike!!

PG, you ARE correct... if you preview a post that you are ATTACHING an image you, you'll need to go back and RE-ATTACH it before you post it... just one of the little quirks with the forum software... ::)

And if you are posting a picture that you have posted before in a different thread, you have to rename it because the system keeps track of all the file names and if you have 2 files with the same name, an error will appear and all the text you just wrote will have disappeared.   ???  ???

I know how to post photos etc but sometimes the photos pop up with a "link" like image://cuda, you then click on that and the photo pops up. But, some other times the photo is already visable on the thread, no clicking? Why does that happen? I like my photos to be shown all the time.

No biggy just curious.  ;) 8)

360cuda made a good point... some of you need to resize your avatar pics as they are a little on the big size... if you need pointers on what size they should be, or how to do that, send me a PM and I can help you!!

NZ, the only images that will display at the end of your post are the .jpg or .gif images... even though the software allows you to attach .bmp files, it won't display them because Netscape is dumb and doesn't have a built in filter to read them... hope that helps ya!!
