  Hemiken that may be, 15 miles is not really a good test time, especially as I mentioned that I think they are too colder plug.

Did you find a solution to this? I'm experiecing the same problem with my 340. Just like in your video. It starte doing that sundenly one day, haven't touched the motor at all.. I don't get it...

Hey Joakim!

I re-torqued the intake, and made new plug wires. After that, the popping noises up front went away to Mosjøen. Sorry about that.  ;)

Still, the 340 yet got some hiccups:
Sometimes, when I hit the fun pedal, it feels like the engine is choking, or something. It certainly doesn't want to scream, that's for sure.
Engine sounds like: RRRRrrrrrrRRRrrrrrrrRRRrrruuuuuhrrrrrrrruuuhrrrrrrRRRRRrrrRRRRrruuh.
After I go off the gas pedal, and step on it again, only increasing pressure gently, then it's no prob to spin higher.  Maybe it has something to do with the kickdown?


On the positive side, I learn a lot from this. I just wish that I didn't have to learn so much at once!  :icon16:

check the accelerator pump & timing ,either could be causing a bog

OK, I've ordered up new plugs.. will see if that helps first, could be the wires also..

I found a broken valvespring, luckily a friend had a set of springs for a 360. Do I need to change all the springs? The ones on the engine has dual spring, but the new one is a single spring, it's for an exhaust valve. I'm planing on a 1000 mile trip starting on tirsday, so I need to get the car in order in a hurry. I changed the broken spring yesterday using compressed air in the cylinder to hold the valve up, so I'm ready to put the intake on today..

neither , using s single spring where a double was could cause a problem , , if the springs are breaking I would replace them all but with a similar pressure spring

Gotta check your plugs. Like a microscope into the cylinders. I would be checking the valve train as well. Are your rockers adjustable? Maybe an exhaust valve a little? A hydraulic motor is going to vary in valve opening as the oil pressure goes up. You might be hanging a valve when the lifters pump up. Check all of your plugs. Not just one. You might have only one cylinder that is back firing so you need to look at all of the plugs to find it.
