Exhaust suggestions, for a 383 in a 1970 Challenger
« on: August 18, 2008 - 06:23:43 PM »
Well hope you guys can help me out here, im planning on a new exhaust sytem for my challenger and i want you opinion/advice. I have a 383 four bbl stock with the HP cast iron manifolds. I plan either to run 2.5 or 3 inch stainless exhaust. Who can tell me the diffrence between mounting the mufflers before the rear end, and the sound diffrence after the rear next to the gas tank in stock possition.

I put the full 2 1/2" TTI system on mine using the stock HP manifolds. I couldn't be more pleased.

3" is overkill on a 383 with iron manifolds
TTi has a great product but not stainless
I have generally positioned the mufflers under the rear seat so I am not sure what difference in sound there would be
