Oil sensor
« on: July 19, 2008 - 08:36:04 PM »
Can someone post a picture of what a correct oil pressure sensor looks like for a 70 Cuda 440 with rallye dash.  Is there a difference between the senor for a rallye and non-rallye dash.

Appreciate it.

Non-rallye will just have an oil pressure idiot light. Rallye has the oil pressure gauge. Idiot light and Pressure gauge senders are not the same.

Sorry cant help with the pic!

Thanks for the help.

Looks like the one I have for my car.  Whats giving me a hard time is that it does not seem to want to squeeze past the reinforcement bracing on the block to the left side of the sensor in the picture.  Does the stem of the sensor come off and then the large portion screws on?  Dumb question perhaps, but I don't see a way around it and I do not want to strip the threads.

Appreciate the help.

No, the sending unit doesn't come apart.  Maybe it would fit better on the other side.
