Yeeaaah, I guess I have to agree.  I have been thinking about it for a while and I might have to reluctently switch my earlier opinion.  I remember when I purchased my 1998 Trans Am, in early 98.  I was one of 1400 who owned one across the states.  1 of three in Colorado Springs where I lived.  It felt great to be on the road with the first model of a different body and engine platform.  It was great.  Very noticeable, even got a little ass over it for a while.  Beat some cars also.

40k? Dodge website says 2009 V6 models start at $21,995, can't imagine a 5.7 would be more than 30k?
