Imagine getting beat at the track by this thing. :o

1000 ft-lbs of torque

0-60: 4 seconds

1/4 mile in 12 seconds

All of this for 100,000 dollars :scared: :scared:

Not every new idea is fruity when it comes to the future of commuter cars. 0-60 in under 4 seconds. Fully electric, 250 mile range. Not bad lookin for a new car.

-Tesla Motors said Tuesday it has hired former Chrysler executive Mike Donoughe as its executive vice president of vehicle engineering and manufacturing.
Look at the specs on this:

Get the price down for the average american and they'll sell a million.

Click on "Ordering". It is actually 108,000 dollars. The 39,000 and 18,000 dollar version are not available yet.
To top it off it is sold as a kit and you have to ASSEMBLE the thing(less than a day to complete) For more than 100,000 dollars you think it would come together.

Does it come with it's own burial policy?!??!
Otherwise I'd rather be on a crotch rocket & go out in style.

1000 foot pounds of torque and 2500 pound weight does not equal 12 second 100 mph quarter miles.
Electric cars can get up and go nowadays, but they don't have to look so ugly.
last i heard of the tesla is they still have not found a tranny that would live very long behind it.
