Thanks everyone for welcoming me. Unfortunately, all the pics I have are too large for this format. I'm computer illiterate but I'll try compressing them and re-posting. The car is also in a 4 page spread in the September issue of Mopar Collector's Guide. The text is for the most part correct with only some minor facts being juggled.

Check out the Pikes Peak Hill Climb thread in a different area for pictures and video.

 Thanks again,

 Jess

My son has been on here for over a year but just alerted me to join last night.  He sent me the links to the post that has the links to YouTube and photos of your car on the mountain.

That had to be a rush making that run.  Love the way you would drift through the hairpin!

What are the wheels you have on it?  Where did you get them?  Size and offset?

Hello,

Thanks for the email. I practiced driving the highway on the weekends for 3 weeks before the race in a daily driver and reaching the summit on race day was totally different!

The wheels are a Minilite copy sold by an outfit in Arizona, Pac Racing Products, which has a website. They are made in Australia. They can custom machine the wheels for whatever offset is desired. They are MUCH cheaper than the real Minilites. The size I run are 15x8 which is the max size allowed in the T/A series back in the day.

 Regards,

 Jess

Jess-

Awesome car! Great to see it on the track too. I spent a little time autocrossing '56 austin healey, and am looking at completely redoing the suspension on my '72 chally to get it closer to road race handling. Not sure I'll race it (probably just autocross type events if I do), but I have a lot of work to do before then anyway. I know that racer's tend to keep their secrets close to the vest, but I'd love to hear anything you'd be willing to discuss on your set up...

I've said it many times since running that road racing school and then a autocross event in Rosemont, IL that if I had the money I would buy another Cuda and set it up for road course competition.  I just don't want to tear up my first new car thought have had thougts of setting it up like a street version of a T/A race car of the era.

There was an engineer from Fel Pro at the autocross with a T/A Challenger clone set up for a modified class.  E/Prepared, I think.  We went for a couple of fun runs with me in the passenger seat and then he insisted I take the wheel.  After running mine on street tires w/stock suspension running that set up Challenger on Comp T/A's was a rush!  I cannot even begin to imagine what you felt like as you hit the summit of the Peak!

Thanks for the info on the wheels.

Thanks again for the welcome. The magazine article was a huge surprise. My wife and I had taken the car to the '07 Spring Fling Speed Festival at Willow Springs. I looped the car in turn three and totally covered every square inch of it in dirt, top, bottom, inside, etc. That was Thursday, I spent a lot of time on Friday cleaning but the car was still filthy when Rob shot the photos. We were sitting behind the car watching people walk by when a guy with an English accent walked up and started talking to us. He was a real nice guy and went gaga over the car. His wife's Magnum had been OverHauled by Chip Foose. Rob walked up a little time later and this guy put him on the spot to shoot the Cuda so he made an appointment with me across the street at the golf course.
After the photo shoot I took Rob for a little ride down the street and back. I had more than one person come up and tell me I was the luckiest guy on the planet becasue the cops patrol that street pretty heavy when the show is going on. My car hasn't been street legal since around '93!
The text has a few mistakes but is for the most part accurate. They did a good job.

 Take care.
