I am considering building another 499 or a 426 hemi for my car soon. Just something to do to pass time.
I may consider selling this 440-6 in my car as a running engine or sell the top then bottom
What might be a good price to ask? 450 miles on it now. I have done 3 oil changes, first was the break in, then a filter change, then a 250 mile change, and a final change just cause I wanted to.
The 6pk is all original 70 stuff number wise, the carbs work flawlessly, it is for the ecs fuel system. Not sure of the dates on the heads, but 906 with new bigger valves, new guides, locks, and keepers. Hp valve job and unshrouded under the valves.
68 block, 68 standard crank, eagle rods, kb 237 pistons .030, file fit plasma moly rings, cloyes dual chain , melling hv pump, comp cam and lifters, 275 xe/hl series. Car idles at 650 rpms , but I keep it at 800, pulls excellent to 6200. I have not over rev'ed the engine, nore has it been run hot. I pulled the 195 thermostat yesterday and installed a 180, I wanted it to run cooler was all, but ran at 195/200 in traffic stop and go. 402 pan with tray. Factory date code correct e body 6pk exhaust manifolds
What would be a good selling price? Can hear run before being pulled, or even driven.
I may sell it as turn key with pulleys, brackets and pump, or just the intake system complete ready to bolt on and drive
Some opinions please
