72 Challenger Hood Part??
« on: August 01, 2008 - 12:21:50 PM »
Hello all.  I’m in the process of completing body work on my 72 challenger and have hit a snag.  I’m needing to locate the small strip of metal or (maybe fiberglass) that attaches to the front lip of the hood and completes the header panel/grill area.  I've attached a picture where you can see the piece that I'm looking for.  Does anyone out there know where I can locate this piece?  Thanks for any help or suggestions!

Are you referring to the hood edge molding? That is very common to rust into useless condition because of the design (yeah, its metal). Year One sells a repop but it is bit expensive there, 175$ or something. Dave from rosevillemoparts (rosevillemoparts.com) is also selling a repop for a better price and he also gives some discount for c-c.com members. I'm also needing one of those and I will contact Dave about it.
