received new wiring today
« on: September 04, 2008 - 10:11:39 AM »

I picked up the new wiring for my cuda at the post office today.
This Ron Francis set is looking really nice and am glad I ordered from them.  All very nice quality parts...maybe even nicer then expected  :woo:
Can hardly wait to start installing...

GM regulator
the headlight switch will shut off the front park lights unless you bridge the terminals on the switch
most of the wire colors are GM as well
do 1 circuit at a time & you will be ok

I knew about the headlight switch, I`m not sure if I will use it but it came in the kit.  I`m not impressed by the looks of the regulator, but I suppose it will work just fine...  I don`t care if the colors don`t match chrysler colors as there won`t be a trace left of the original wiring when I`m done  :2thumbs:
It`s all pretty well documented and looks like even I can install it  :grinyes:

At least the fuses are all neatly labled. Unlike the Painless fuse box where you have no idea what fuse does what. :-\

Dutch,
How are you coming on the Ron Francis kit install?  Where did you locate the panel?

I am getting ready to order a kit for my 67 Barracuda but it is tight under the dash, I'm not sure where to mount the panel.  There is no room on the driver's side kick panel at the top due to the cold air box.  The only place that looks possible is in the center below the wiper motor location.

Does anyone have any ideas?

I`m not ready to install for at least another few months. I will mount the fusebox in the floorconsole....I want to build a custom console, bigger then the original so space won`t be a problem for me.  Can`t help you with another location , I`ve never had an a- body...
good luck
