Steering wheel adapters
« on: September 02, 2008 - 10:36:18 PM »
 :dunno:
Can someone tell me the difference in these two steering wheel adapters?
Do they take different size steering wheels?
Why would the factory put the crush can on some cars and not others?

The short one came with the car but the car had no steering wheel.
I want to use the crush can but I don’t know if it takes a certain type of wheel.
Any feedback would be appreciated
Thanks!

Oh I want the one on the right. It is used for tuff wheels, rim blows and such. Your build sheet has a steering wheel code on it :2thumbs:

the right one was used mostly on B bodys , the crush can was used on virtually every E body I have seen

Either of them will work, but the ribbed one is original on an E body.  I have seen many swapped to the smooth one to get the steering wheel out of your lap.

That's right. Either will work on any car. The Crush can (ribbed) was exclusively on E-bodies only. The short (smooth) can was for A and B body cars with the Tuff wheel or Rimblow. I have several of the short ones in stock if anyone needs any.
