    I hate to point out bad stuff when you are making so much progress,but that greasy brake parts pic means you need a couple of axle seals. If you decide not to pull the axle and put new brakes on anyway,they will look the same shortly after you hit the road.

    Man - looks like they went awfully happy with that purple paint in the back there!  EVERYTHING's purple!

    Thanks guys.

    I hope it is not axle seals.  But if it is, I think I can pull out the axels without haveing to pull all the brakes apart.

    I will run it for a bit and pull the drums and see what happens.

    Well it took a lot longer than I had hoped...but it is all worth it in the end.

    I finaly finished all of the work on my 74.  The only thing I have left is to insure it,  put plates on and and drive it...hopefully this weekend, next at the latest.

    Man I had a blast doing this, and I cant wait to drive it...it has been too long. My 8 year old daughter is also really looking forward to it. :bigsmile: :bigsmile:

     At the risk being a contrarion, the leak at the axles would concern me. At least it's just the rear brakes though.  :bigsmile:

     Looking good otherwise. All those little projects are really coming together. :thumbsup:

    To be quite honest, I am pretty concerned about it too, and I will certainly look at it after some road time.  I checked the fluid level in the rear end, and it seemed to be fine (I assume that this is what woudl leak out)...so only time will tell. 

    I would like to pull the rear out this winter and put in new springs, gears and seals, maybe then it will sit a little, ok a lot lower. :bigsmile:
