Yeah!   That could have been ALOT worse!   I have alum. wheels on my car,I'm amazed at how much the lugs loosen after some driving. I check them more often now.  I've lost a front wheel on a grand sham doin 50 around a corner.Sent my buddy into the windshield. The wheel broke off! We were o.k.  glad you are too! :grinyes:

The main thing here is that no one was hurt, Like you said the rest can be replaced. I wonder if my girlfriend would okay a repaint if that happened to me.

Had the same thing happen to me in HS, Me and a friend from school rotated and ballanced the wheels on my Jeep Wrangler in autoshop on the way home the Drivers side front tire come shooting off out in front of me.  I skid to a stop and figured out the problem, the lug nuts were over tightened (I didnt put that tire on, it was the other guy!) and had striped out all 5 of them!  I was so pisst!  Long story short I was just glad I had got off the interstate!  Sorry about your car!  Glad your ok!

Man, that actually turned out not so bad at all, considering the speed and circumstances. Did the seat clean up OK ?   :roflsmiley:  Glad you and everyone else is OK.

Glad you're alright and nobody else was hurt from the incident.  I've never seen a wheel actually come off, but I've witnessed first hand what it's like to have your right hand side Upper Control Arm to give out on a Chevy truck doing about 73 mph on the freeway.  All I can say is good thing my father was driving and was able to get slowed down and "turn" into the police turnaround between the medians.  I've also seen first hand the damage a semi tractor can sustain when another semi's trailer tire comes flying off from the opposite direction doing around 67-70 mph. :scared: (Again, nobody was hurt, but we knew the person who's truck got hit.  We were just another truck length ahead of him and saw the tire come flying off and over the median at full speed.)

Like all the others have said, glad you're ok and no one got hurt.   A wheel flying off at that speed and hitting another car would've been disasterous!

Good to hear you and everybody are ok. Well , now you have a little work ahead of you. The bad thing about it , it had to happen in the beginning of the cruise season.

Hey Chris,
Diggin up the ole dirt here. That was a "fun" trip. Looks like I won't be making it this year. I've got a messed up rear axle center section I installed a week ago. Unless I get this other one installed & tweaked. Hope it's a great turnout.  :woo:
