Just a thought...do you have vinyl siding on the garage or house?  My neighbors house ahs vinyl siding and the wasps/hornets mad a nest inside.  I could see them going going in and out of crevices in the siding and on the corner peices....not that this is your problem but just a thought...  :)

I do have vinyl siding, but I have not seen them there yet.  How often were they seen going in or out of your neighbors siding?

I wasn't over there much but just on one of the visits I was there, say a 5 minute visit, I saw 2 of them.  At another persons house I saw bees going in and out of siding very actively in the morning, around 10am, it may depend on the time of day?  :dunno:

Super Blue 72 is right about the siding it happens a lot. And very hard to get rid of. You can hear them buzzing behind the wall. I had them when I use to have a house...not an old house but lovely new siding...I kept finding wasps in the house and was getting real spooked about it...then one night when it was quiet and only me...I could hear this buzzing quite loud...coming from the wall  :faint:

I had to call the professionals on that problem...

As for what do they like...anything sweet...if you notice if you eat outside as I do a lot suddenly the area will be swarming if there is something sweet and am not even talking candy sweet. Example...I bring out sweet & sour ribs and they are all over the place

So you could leave out juice...pops...sweet and sour sauce ;) When camping cooking up bacon brings them on and even beer...they would be all over swarming the bottles

Good luck !!

Thanks hannah.  I do not have them getting in the house yet, oh boy, I hope never.  I keep my house pretty quiet at night and I have not heard anything yet, so I hope they are not in the siding, but I will keep an eay out.  I might have to try the sweet stuff one of these days to see if I get lucky.  I do have a hummingbird feeder and they do not seem to bother it.  :dunno:

If you have bees, wasps or hornets flying around DON'T leave cans of softdrinks setting around and then pick them up and drink from them. A friend of mine who's allergic to bees did that and got stung in the mouth. By the time her husband got her to the hospital her throat was almost swollen shut!

Thanks, my father warned me about that when I was young  :2thumbs:

Sounds like wasps and men have a lot in common!  :smilielol:

According to this they have nothing in common...

Here in Australia we have the English wasp which can sting many times, they go after meat and sweet drinks. It is easy to make a drink trap for them but you only get a small number. I find out where their nest is which is usually but not always in the ground, then at night I put a red filter on my flash light and go to the nest and spray kerosene down the entrance, you have to watch out for a couple of guards near the entrance, I stand on them and place a lump of dirt over the hole, all over.      :2thumbs:
