Me too.  If you are putting it on after market quarters your might have to trim the 4 mounting tabs on the repro cap, but easily done.

probably not stamped exactly correctly , it should be tight against the body , you may need to make a gasket or tighten the mounting somehow

While I was at this year's Mopar Nationals, one of the vendors had a passenger side NOS full quarter panel. I remembered the issue of flip top fuel cap assembly fit from some previous thread(s) and took a coupe of pics of the gas cap area in case they can be compared to see the difference between (claimed) NOS and aftermarket versions. This way someone could see the extent of any modifications needed ahead of time. Not the best quality but still maybe they can show the diff :)

I think on my repro I adjusted the little tangs on the trim ring to snug it up.  It was really loose before I did it.

Had the same problem.  I put some gasket material between the mount and the trim ring and it worked fine.

We recently had the same problem with our chally.  The car had repro quarters put on prior to us getting the car in May and dad wanted the flip style gas cap on it as well.  He got a repro flip style cap and it would not fit snug but ended up having the trim ring loose.  We compared it to a chally next to us at the Mopars @ Englishtown show and found out that the stamping on the repros are not correct.  The fuel area stamping on originals are more defined and are a sharp 90* bend where it gets recessed.  The repros are a lazy gradual slop inward which is making our twist on gas cap stick up above the rest of the quarter panel.  Luckily, I was able to find a patch panel that someone had cut out around the gas fill area for $10 at the show and now dad can have that grafted into the car so it is correct.

As far as which repro quarters are on the car presently, I don't know but the resto is about 2 years old.  Hopefully they have corrected the stamping issue since then.
