uT OH--727 WONT GO INTO GEAR!
« on: March 23, 2005 - 09:33:04 AM »
For the first time today, i was putting the drive shaft in my road runner and needed to turn the tail shaft to line the u joints up. Well I went to go manually put the trans in neutral and it would not go into any gear!   :eekbig:
I know how it would usually Click into the different gear. The lever just feels like its spring loaded! Never had the trans apart but it came out of a running and driving truck. I am stumped! I did put in a new neutral saftey switch, deep sump pan with the filter extender...????  :dontknow:  :gripe:

check the lever where the shift linkage hooks up to the transmission and see if the bolt is tight. might just be spinning and not moving the shaft going to the valvebody.
