Carpet recommendations
« on: September 12, 2008 - 07:26:49 AM »
Can anyone recommend a good source for a carpet set for my '70 Cuda? It would be great if I could source a set that had the plastic buckets sewn in for the seat belt retractors.

Thanks!

there is only one or 2 manufactures of the carpets that everyone sells. No one sews in the buckets as they just sit under the carpet and the little bezel helps to hold them in place. looking around 150.00+ups depending on where you go to buy. I can order the carpet in for you if your interested. just need to know if auto of 4 speed and color

Currently your choices are the carpets made by ACC and Trim Parts.  However, a new carpet should be out soon by ECS Automotive Concepts.  Supposedly it will be much better than the two currently offered, and will be shipped flat.  I can tell you that if you have bucket seats and no console you will be disappointed in the existing carpets.  They are folded for shipping and that causes a big bubble right there that you can't get out.  If you have a bench seat or a console this problem gets covered up, but when I installed the Trim Parts carpet in my convertible that had buckets and auto on the column, I was displeased.  They sent me a replacement, and it was the same.  The new carpet from ECS will probably be about $350 shipped when it comes out.

ECS and ACC are owned by the same person, Dave Walden, He is a new member here.  But what has been said is true with transporting and new design coming out.  I am not sure of final costing though. :2thumbs:
