DIY rimblow resto?
« on: September 21, 2008 - 07:05:01 PM »
I posted once before about who to send it to. I am pretty handy with most retro projects and was wondering if anyone has restored their own? My wheel is is pretty good shape. I may want to do the wood and spokes and maybe send it in for the horn. I just cant see how it would cost 600-800 bucks to do my wheel. Are they making 100 bucks an hour?

Have you actually gotten a quote for your wheel or just going by what websites say the cost is?

I sent pictures to a couple restorers, both were about the same price. I think they charge for worst case even tho not all wheels need the same amount of work, its dishonest if you ask me. I might be better off looking for one already restored on ebay ect. People are hurtung for money in a crap economy and I may find a good deal. I dont need it right away so i have some time.

I wish I knew how to restore these. I have two I want done but rather spend the money elsewhere right now. Good luck if you take a shot at it.
