    whole dash removal

    i searched some but didnt find what i was looking for im gonna just remove the entire dash.  Ive heard there are 7 bolts that hold the thing in can anyone tell me where they all are?  Im totally stripping the car down for body work and this thing needs to go

    There are some in the defroster vents and then 2 on each side. Then you got all the wires, speedo cable...etc.

    4 on top, one in each corner of the defroster vents and 2 lower ones by the door jambs I would just loosen them and let the dash swing down to you.(after you pull the colum)

    I tried this today and it went well. One thing I might suggest is that you wind the two studs ,that hold the column up, into the bracket. When you tilt the dash it will more easily clear the studs

    Easier way is to install 2 nuts on to the studs, lock them together with 2 wrenches and unwind them out all together until you put the steering column in.

    not too bad , the hardest part is getting the 4 small bolts by the defrost vents back in , you need someone with very small hands & preferably long fingers

    The tool I found that's the easiest to get the dash back on while the glass is still in is a wrench that has a short socket on one end. It's not a swivel but can go left or right movement only. Barely tape the bolt onto the socket to get it started. A flexible extension might work but I have yet to try that out on it.

    Dropping a screw or bolt that falls somewhere and not recover can drive you crazy.
