Went to Calgary's Spring Thaw Car Show yesterday!
It's the kick off of shows and cruising for the new season. It was in a parking lot at the football stadium.
I'd guess about 300 Muscle Cars and Rods of all makes were there.
Boy did I see some nice machinery! Everthing from 28 Phords to 74 Chargers.
A 69 Charger General Lee replica, very nicely done!
What really stuck out though was a Black Hemi 65 Coronet with wheelie bars! The guy got in it to leave and I said to my fiance, listen to this! He fired it up and although it was very well mufflered, you just can't mistake that sound!!!
Then right beside him a woman, perhaps his wife/girlfriend fired up a Red 66 or 67 Hemi Coronet. She was struggling pretty hard with the manual steering. Her car was quite loud and it was music to my ears as they both cruised out of there!
I hope I see those cars at the Northern Mopars show later this summer, so I can get some pix of em!
Also saw some really nice 68/69/71 Road runners, 70 Cudas, Challengers!
I grabbed my fiance's disposable camera when we left her place. Once we got to the show I realized there were only 3 shots left!!!
Oh well, I'll be better prepared for other shows this summer.)
